8 Months Old!

James is eight months old already, I can't believe it has been that long!

I'd just like to start by saying I LOVE THIS AGE! I love the smiles, the giggles, the enthusiasm for learning and exploring, the snuggles he loves so much, and the independence I see sprouting up.

James has learned so many things over the past few months. He has become much more content to play on his own with his toys and books. He started pulling himself up on furniture and not more then a week later walking around items. He is such a fast learner! He signs all done after a meal (still only when he's in a good mood) and I'm working on teaching him 'drink' as he screams for his cup whenever he wants it (and I don't like the screaming).
He understands what no means and tests it every day, he knows when he's doing something he shouldn't and will look to myself or daddy and grin. LOL, sometimes I have to keep from laughing as he reaches for the cords in the wall and smiles at us.... He can be very naughty! He giggles when you say "I'm gonna get you" and snuggle your nose into him or when you tickle him.
He loves music and over the past week and half has found books to be quite interesting. He loves the outdoors and wants to go on adventures, to the store, library, park, etc... He also loves when he see another little person! He wants to be a walker so badly, and he would jump for hours in your arms if you could last that long. And he popped two teeth. Oh, how I love my little man!!

We started going to the baby story time at the local library and he loves it! The stories, puppets, singing and dancing, the other babies, the bubbles and the parachute at the end of the story. When he see the other kids doing something it inspires him to try it, after watching and smiling at them for a bit he will join in. It is great to see him want to socialize and even better that we found somewhere he can do so. Since we don't have any local friends with small children and James being an only child at this point I have found a great appreciation for the library and all it has to offer.

James is currently drinking about six, five oz bottles a day and eats just about whatever we are eating. He loves flavorful foods with plenty of spices. If he is given something bland he will eat it but if it has flavors he will eat twice as much. I'm glad that he likes these flavors as I enjoy cooking with big flavor.

At night we have regressed with sleeping, JT went from sleeping a solid six to eight hours at night and six months to now at eight months being up every three to four hours!!! I can't figure out what has caused this change... Is it the traveling back and forth between our weekday and weekend homes? Is he sleeping too much during the day? Not getting enough food during the day? Or is it maybe nightmares? His teeth still? Has he gotten spoiled? He naps two to three naps a day and these also very quite alot now.

In an attempt to get better sleeping habits I am going to try getting James up at 7:45 every morn and keep his 8pm bedtime possibly moving bedtime back to 7:30. I am going to make sure he is getting enough to eat at every meal and try to get away from his want to snack all day instead. Hopefully we will begin see some improvement in his sleeping...
